Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft

Experienced Ro-Ro and naval auxiliary shipbuilders

flensburger.jpgThe Flensburger shipyard (FSG), founded in 1872, is located in Flensburg, North Germany, close to the Danish border. With a permanent workforce of 700 highly skilled employees, it has built 729 vessels of various types, and has an annual turnover of 180 million Euros.

In order to cater for future markets, FSG has kept its engineering competence in-house and constantly invests in R+D for the flexible development of sophisticated ships within short periods. Since 1985, FSG has won all the German Government orders for large Navy auxiliaries, high-tech command and reconnaissance vessels and complex Class 702 task force supply vessels.

The yard’s current programme includes state of the art merchant vessels of up to 80,000 tdw and Navy auxiliaries. As merchant shipbuilders, FSG has focused on Ro-Ro vessels, and with 34 contracts since 1998, is the world leader for this class of ship.
